Sasta

Sasta is a small web application created to help manage attendance and apologies at Rotary Club meetings.

There is nothing to see here unless you've been directed here by a member of your club to sign up.

If you are already a member follow the "sign in" link above to see the options for setting your attendance at future meetings

How is Sasta useful?

If you'd like to learn about what Sasta does and if it would be useful for your club please email me, Steve Root, and I'll send you the sign up code for the demonstration club.

Sasta is free for Rotary Clubs and similar service/non-profit clubs and community groups, read why at the end.

You can create a meeting that everyone in your club can respond to

Our club need to know how many people are likely to arrive for catering. Some clubs need to members to choose menu options. Sasta allows a meeting to be created that each member can respond to. You pick the questions you need answers to. There can be up to 5 check boxes (in this screenshot, only 1 box is used as the question "Attending?"). There can be 2 text fields that you can use to collect answers in words, useful for comments or requests. Finally there are two more fields that can be numbers (not shown in this screenshot).

You can view everyone's responses

You can view everyone's response on a single page. Members are also emailed a reminder before the meeting to encourage them to respond. A set number of hours before meeting a select group of email addresses get this page by email too.

You can create an event to gather responses

Organising events can be time consuming. To help reduce the admin, any member can create an event and any member can respond to an event with a simple Name, "yes, no, undecided" and a comment. This means the organiser doesn't have to check with every member individually if they have already answered. The space for a name means a member can add responses on behalf of non members too.

Why is Sasta free to use?

  • Because I've created it for my Rotary club, so the work is already done (about 40 hours to code version 2 - I enjoy coding!)
  • Because it costs next to nothing in server hosting costs (it runs on the servers of my business which have plenty of excess capacity for this)
  • Because if you're a Rotary club (or similar service/community club) you're doing good things in your community and if I can help you do that, that's a good thing too. Good Things Make Me Happy(tm)

So, if you think Sasta could be useful to you get in touch and you can have a play - you've nothing to lose!
